2001 American Tradition standing on the Roof

My wife and I just purchased 2001 American Tradition, I'm a big guy 6'3" 285 i'm wondering it I can get on the roof to service one of my AC units. The roof is fairly new and seems to be in good shape given the year of the coach. The PO's stored it in a covered space.

I just want to be on the safe side and would love some feedback (other than the normal dieting advise )

Sure, I don’t know if I would trust the ladder on back.

I’m a 300lb guy and have been on every motorhome roof I’ve owned. All Fleetwood products and without any issue or concern.
Washing roof to servicing vents and A/Cs.
As suggested, inspecting the ladder is a good idea if that is what you plan to use.
I have moved over to using our little giant ladder to get up there from the side of the coach now; it’s a bit easier transitioning to and from the roof.

I've gotten on roof top of my 1999 Eagle every year, wash it with a brush and dishwasher soap.... only sketchy part is getting on / off ladder once on roof.

Lots of information here on your coach. Ask away if you need any help figuring or fixing!

I totally agree with Deblas, in that although I wear admirably smaller jeans than yesteryear, I still get up on the roof several times a year to inspect, add butyl tape or Dicor sealant, or just enjoy the view. I don't use the manufacturer's ladder, though, as a Little Giant folding unit provides greater confidence to my (gracefully) aging frame.

Best Regards,
Frank
