2002 40' Bounder Inverter Issues

Hello,

I am helping a friend get a battery discharge issue resolved.

The issue is that when left unattended the batteries are drained in a day to a day and a half.

He had all his batteries replaced. He had his inverter replaced with an xantrex 81-2022-12 Freedom.

That inverter runs all the time. With everything off in the coach the inverter circuit is drawing 16 amps, even with all the breakers off except for the inverter circuit. Shouldn't it only run when there is demand?

In the picture below you will see some wires wire nutted and taped below the 30 a breaker? Is this wired correctly? The manual does not show this wiring diagram.

The inverter switch at the control panel inside where the breakers are does not seem to work, when off there is still power inside when unplugged from shore power.

Please excuse any ignorance on my part, I am trying to learn how all this works as we go. Any help in the right direction would be appreciated.

Davey
