2003 37U electrical problem

I should have posted my problem(s) here first. Oh, well!
The situation I am in is that when the coach is connected to shore power, the steps, wipers, mirrors, etc. work just fine. When disconnected from shore power, even with the engine running, nothing works. After replacing the two chassis batteries, and inspecting the four house batteries, I found a thin, flat cable corroded and broken at the end. After searching the 'net, I found out that it is a Temperature Sensor Cable that is plugged into the front of the inverter. Replaced cable. No where could I find information as to where the cable connected. Went to U-Tube for info. One site indicated it should be connected to the + post of one of the 6 Volt batteries. Another site said DON'T connect it because it will fry the inverter. So, I left it hanging near the battery as instructed. Then, I cleaned and filled the 6 Volt batteries. After all that, everything seemed to work just fine. After a couple of days as I was getting ready to take the coach to a service center, the steps, wipers, etc. did not work! Anyone have an idea or two? Sorry this has taken so long, but I wanted to cover everything.

Is your coach 30 amp or 50 amp service?

I have a 2007 Bounder 38s. The temp sensor is on positive terminal of second battery from left of coach batteries.
