Unhappy 2003 Southwind light issue

I just bought a 2003 southwind and I have 3 lights that are mounted in the engine compartment that are on constantly and I can't find a switch that will turn them off.

Does anyone have any idea as to where the switch is?

Thanks,

Tommy

Hi & welcome to iRV2.

On our Bounder, the Utility Light switch (found in the bank of switches on our dash - see below) turns on the engine compartment lights, as well as the utility light on the outside above our water/sewer bay. Although, in your case, if the switch was on, I'd think you'd see the outside light on, too. But it's something to check.

The switch is one of three located on the lower left of the panel all of which are identified by cryptic signs that have little logic to suggest their function.IMHO

Welcome to IRV2 Tommy. My Bounder has a rocker switch on the dash labeled utility light. It turns on the light under the hood, the outside light above the service utility bay and the light inside the service utility bay. Maybe you have the same.

X2 Xrench; I have the same deal, three switches lower left corner of the dash control underhood, wet bay, and something else, I always have to look in the manual to remember. The labels make no sense at all.

I too have an 03 SW with the 3 switches on the lower left dash panel. One controls the "under hood" lights another controls all the compartment lights" (turn this switch off and power to all compartment lights are turned off at once) the 3rd switch controls the "Fog Lights". I also agree that the markings on the switches make no sense so I took a Dymo label maker and identified the switches "Fog", "Lug" and "Hood". The other thing about these switches is that the toggle position for "On" is the "Down" position and "Off" is up!!

I never did respond to my initial question and I thank everyone for their input. I figured it out... It was one of the rocker switches in the lower left of the dashboard. It turns out that the middle switch was the one, but it was in the "off" position so I figured that the switch was to something else. The polarity of the switch was backwards, go figure. I'm puzzled as to why the original owner didn't correct it. It only took me 8 days with the lights on to figure it out.

Thanks again.
