2004 Eagle Entry Air switch

I have a 2004 American eagle that my son and i are tinkering with. We have most of the issues resolved. But have one that I am not sure about. It deals with the air slide stair cover. There is a switch in the passenger overhead compartment that operates the air assist floor cover. It works properly. There is another air switch right inside the entry door (between the passenger seat and the wall) . It is labeled normal and retract. I know it operates an air assist door lock. My son swears it used to operate both the air lock and the stair cover sumontaniously. He took it apart and did not label the four air lines going to the switch. I have tried several things and have not been able to get it to operated correctly.
Can someone confirm if it should operate both or just the door lock? Does anyone happen to have the air line schematic?

Sounds like the auto/manual control for the outside steps to me.
If so, keep in mind that it's bypassed with the ign. sw. on, so no effect in either position. Keeps one from driving off, with their steps out.

The outside steps are electric not air on mine. I actually got the air lock working correctly. I had it but when son and wife both said it used to operated the door lock and the step cover, I took it apart again to see why it would only operated the lock. When you guys helped me know that it should only operate the lock then it was easily fixed.

Door air switch

Outback,

Could you please share what you found about the switch and how you fixed it ?

I have a newly acquired 2003 Eagle and my switch leaks air if slightly jiggled.

Thanks

It does just operated the air locks, not the step cover. My would leak air when it wasn't hooked up correctly. There where 4 air lines, two in two out. Then there is an exhaust nut. I labeled the lines a b c and d. There were 16 combinations and I finally got it working on the 16th try. You could just have a hose loose at the switch. It is easy to get to the back side. Just lift the rubber cover up in the cup holder and remove those three screws, then take the cup holder off. Then there will be a couple more screws and the whole top will come off. You will be able to see the air lines going into the switch. I know the lines were just barely long enough. I can see one of them popping out.
