what is the white dime sized socket that is on the wall inside the bedroom near the door for?
It has four small inlet sockets and is wired to a phone sized wire.

If identical to the one in the kitchen (mine is by the mirror, near the fridge) it's your temperature sensor for the AC.
Tip: if you're not sure which zone is 1 vs 2, have someone breathe onto the sensor while you toggle between zones. The one that increases...bingo, that sensor goes with that zone.
