2006 38N: need to replace some basement door struts
I need to replace the struts on 5 - 6 of my basement doors. Most of the struts are Master-Lift and others are from Stabilus. All are 15" extended length and have the ball socket fittings, but some of the struts don't appear to be properly sized for the doors they are supporting.
Manufacturer instructions say it is important to know the weight of the door to select the strut with the correct amount of force. I don't see any way to weigh the doors. Is the the kind of information REV Group customer service can provide if I give them my VIN?
I'm also having trouble finding exact replacements. Searches for a Master Lift ML 13-60 gas strut, for example, take me to other brands. I don't want to have to turn around and send them all back if they don't fit my doors.
Anyone have experience with replacing these struts that can provide some guidance?

Manufacturer of the strut won't make a difference if the part number ex: ML13-60.
I get all my struts from Lift Supports Depot. REV can provide the pn for struts, but this isn't rocket science and the number off the strut should get you what you need mostly. Some of the basement doors need 80# struts if they are very long, but the 60# ones are adequate for most of the standard doors.

Thanks for the response, Richard. I ordered a total of six pairs of struts of three sizes from Lift Supports Depot that should arrive by this weekend. Prices were better than what I had been seeing at other sources. Will proceed with replacing my bad struts next week. Thanks, again!
Good deal! I know it's a price bite to get that many, but I procrastinate too long often....and I really dislike opening a bin to only have it fail back on me....Grrr....so getting the struts is always a welcome change. I had to change about that many as you when I picked up this unit 5 years ago, and just recently had to get 6 more for inside cabinets and a couple outside.
Having new struts on the bed lift was quite welcome too!
