2006 Bounder 35E Camera/Monitor died

We were driving to a campground and 5 miles out, my B/W monitor just went to a white screen.
No intermittent or flashy picture until this point. I get audio and the volume control works OK.
I dropped the monitor down and there was just the one cable and it was firmly connected. I tried slapping the monitor but the screen stayed steadily white.

So, I am assuming that the system has died. Unless someone knows if something I can try.

I looked on Amazon and I can get a wireless, 7-inch LCD color monitor with wireless camera for $88. Anyone tried these Chinese units?

Or should i go on up to a new Camera/Monitor.cable kit and wire it myself? Also wondering if the original wiring able will work with these new color systems?

The rear camera on our 35e went out last year but luckily we have the extended warranty so it was covered. They were unable to get a B/W to replace it so they put a color monitor in it's place. The existing cables worked however, we still only have B/W. They said that the existing cables could not support color.

Camera works fine but with the new and improved camera, we lost sound while driving forward. We only have sound in reverse. Not a big deal but when trying to get aligned in a tight site I forget that the driver can't hear me when I'm talking so we have to make sure I'm in the mirror's view for good hand signals.

If it's the same CRT Weldex piece of crap we we had, it's toast. At least yours lasted longer than ours. Had ours replaced with a color camera/LCD monitor 5 or so years ago & we've been having issues w/it for the past couple years. Looking to replace again with a unit that has side cameras....if I can find something I like.

Thanks everyone!

Thanks for the responses, everyone.

I was actually surprised that it worked as well as it did when I purchased the RV, so its death was not unexpected.

I have been on eBay and Amazon and there are dozens of cheap options out there.
I am leaning towards a wireless kit including 7-9-inch screen color LCD monitor w/camera. It keeps me from running a lot of wires and the costs can be as low as under $100.

Thanks again everyone.

No wireless...

I won't go wireless for a monitor yet unless you want to spent quite a bit of money and even then it's hard to predict what you have for interference!
My BW one on our Am. Eagle still works but "I need more eyes" for in the trailer and on the back of the trailer so I bought a $97.00 monitor good for two camera's (you can switch back and forth) that has a great colour picture and I will buy two "Good" quality camera's for my purpose lets say in the range of 60 to 100$ each to complete the system. Then you can buy cable ready made with or without audio, as long as you need!
Boom there you go!

Regards,

Ed
