2006 Pace Arrow 37C - thinking about purchasing
Hi: We are thinking about purchasing a 2006 Pace Arrow 37C MH (gas). It is in great condition, with only 11000 miles on it, and in our price range. We like the newer diesel-pushers but not sure we want to invest so much money. We currently have a 2000 Fleetwood Pace Arrow Vision 36B, and have enjoyed it for the past 4 yrs, but would like a more updated, comfortable, but affordable rig.
We took our first look at this 2006 37C Pace Arrow today at a local RV dealer. No icemaker in fridge for some reason - not sure if it has a washer/dryer combo but we're going to take a much closer inspection of the rig on Saturday.
Would appreciate hearing from any owners of 2006 Pace Arrow 37C MH (or those with a similar model/but same make&year) - what are pros/cons, etc.? How does the Chevy 8.1 engine compared with the Ford V-10 on our 2000? What is average mileage on your rig? Are you happy with your purchase? Repair history?
Thanks,
Susan and Jim

Mines a close cousin to what your looking at, we bought it used and have put over 25K miles on it without any repairs except a cooler for the frig (my fault parking on the side of a steep hill), oil changes and upgrades, handles great on the road.

We have a 2004 PA 37C and absolutely Love it.Our had 43k on it when we got it a year ago and had had no major issues with it.The 8.1 has a little more power than the 2000 V10 and the coach drives great with it.If it does(should ) have a WD it will be in the bathroom.

2002 37A PA here on Ford. Bought it about 3-4 years ago with 28k miles, now about 5k more. Use it at least one weekend month and couple three times a year for vacations. Has been a very good coach. Power is fine and we drag a 5000 lb Jeep everywhere we go.

Hi Bpp: Thanks for responding.
Does your rig's 4 door fridge include an icemaker?
Do you have a washer/dryer combo?
How about an awning "wind sensor", which is supposed to automatically close the power awning if the wind kicks up to a certain level?
Thanks

Well I've got an ice maker but have no idea if it works or not.
It did come with the automatic wind sensor for the awning, but again I don't know if it works because I generally do not use it and the first sign of winds I bring it in if it's out.
As far as size and looks I've been told twice now by gas station workers that I was at a gas pump instead of diesel in just under 4.5 years of having it.

We have a 2005 Pace Arrow 36D on the Workhorse W-22 chassis with the 8.1 and Allison 5 speed. I average about 7.5 mpg, but you should do a little better because I think that the 2006 has the Allison 6 speed tranny. If the coach that you're looking at has the W-24 chassis, you might be a little happier with the extra cargo carrying capacity, as I run full load most of the time. The W-22 is much better than the P-32 that I had before, but I still added Blue-Ox Tiger Traks both front and back for better handling in the wind and this made a big difference. The awning wind sensor must be enabled via a switch on the side of the awning control box inside one of your cupboards The sensor in on the roof. I haven't used mine in the automatic mode yet. As JohnRR said, most people think that it's a DP, and it always gets a lot of looks from passers by. It's a handsome body style for sure and we love the finish inside, and the full body paint holds it's shine nicely. I think that you'll really enjoy the 37C. One caveat with the Workhorse Chassis is that where I live anyway, parts are a little more scarce than I would like, but so far I haven't needed very many. Good luck with your decision.

More questions re 2006 Pace Arrow 37C
Hi again: We're still in the process of purchasing an '06 Pace Arrow 37C. Almost there, but would appreciate hearing from owners of this same rig to answer following questions we have re the rig we're purchasing:
1) Due to some imperfections we saw in the dash vinyl, we've asked the dealer to remove and replace the entire strip of affected vinyl with same or close to same color/type of vinyl. Dealer has warned us that "this rig is known to have a squeaky dash when driving". Is this TRUE?
It doesn't squeak at all rt now (we took rig for test drive). They are warning us that doing the vinyl replacement, by removing the dashboard and reinstalling, this could result in a squeak we didn't have before and they don't want to be responsible should that be the case. We feel they should do the job right, test drive, and fix if there's a squeak. Thoughts?
2) The rig has a blk 4dr Norcold 1210 fridge, no icemaker. We are replacing with a stainless 1210imss (4 Dr stainless with icemaker), which dealer will install (no charge as icemaker was a deal breaker for wife). Anyone have the Norcold 1210imss model and do you like it? Any problems?
3) Lastly, how many electrical outlets are in the living/kitchen/dining areas and where are they located? Is there an outlet below the the glass cabinet? (Is the cabinet lighted inside and if so where is light switch for it?). I can see need for one if using the foldout table there for a coffemaker. Is there an outlet near the sofa, recliner, and/or dining table? We somehow forgot to check for where the outlets are located in this area. We know there's add'l ones in the bedroom but somehow failed to note those in forward area of kitchen/living and dining room.

JohnRR: So glad to hear that.
We believe the folks at the dealership are trying to get out of replacing the leather strip in the dashboard by claiming this specific model rig is "known" for having a squeaky dash so we could end up with one if the dash is taken off for the leather repair.
They tried to get us to agree to a custom dash cover to hide the damage to the leather strip, but we said no thanks. Looks tacky when the rest of the rig looks new and modern.
Thanks

Sounds Micky Mouse but I've been thinking if I ever had to replace mine I would cut the material out in place and get a suitable piece of wood cut to size, lay a piece of foam on it then cover it with the outer cover and secure the material to under the board then glue the whole thing in place.
I would not be able to put up with cuts or cracks there.
Just another thought you are talking about the soft cover between the plastic type dash and the front plastic with defrosters?
