2006 Revolution 40LE Dipstick tube
I have a weird one, I recently bought the above coach and took it in to get serviced. Upon checking the oil they found out there is a hole in the tube about 3/4 the way down and the dipstick will slide right out when you push it back in. I found a few posts about a CSB from Spartan so I made a call and they said my VIN is not under that CSB. So, my question is, where can I get a tube so I can replace mine? I looked on eBay and other places, but they are link back to extavators and other heavy equipment. I know the Cat C9 is not unique to the Motorhomes, but I felt the ones on Ebay looked different. Thoughts?

While the engine is certainly not unique to motorhomes, very likely the dip stick tube IS UNIQUE.
In a truck, the dip stick would be very short.
Contact Spartan with your engine serial number.
And, be very aware that that hole is letting dirt into the engine.
Were it mine, I would install the new tube and within a few miles change the oil and filter.

Will the VIN work, or do I need the serial number? If the latter, where is that at?

Yes, with Spartan, VIN should do it. Their records should show exactly what engine as well as what dip stick tube was installed in your chassis.

As Brett explained, the dip stick tube shape & length is specific to the chassis where the Cat C9 engine is installed. Spartan determined that when they built the motorhome chassis, so they are the ones to give you the dipstick spec details (and may even be able to supply a replacement). Your VIN is sufficient to identify the chassis for this purpose.
That said, auto parts stores and repair shops often cut & bend standard tubing to fit individual vehicles. If you can remove the old dipstick and bring it in, they can probably match it.

Thanks all, I called Spartan and they are able to provide the assembly for a reasonable price. Not sure how it happened as it's really not near anything hot.

You may try "The Parts House" in Illinois 309-343-0146 and talk to Jason Fransene.
He was able to provide one for my Freightliner built chassis. Good chance he has the product supporting a Spartan Chassis also.
