2007 Fleetwood Front MC rack

Gents
Got a 2" receiver hitch mounted on the front of my V 10 powered Class C to put a MC on the front.
The mechanic said to be very careful about blocking the airflow to the radiator.
For those of you that have done this; is this a poor idea?
I watch my temp gauge and going up or down long hills it does not move much if at all with nothing on the front.

Blocking the airflow to the radiator is probably the least of your worries. You looking to add weight that is cantilevered a significant distance ahead of the front axle that is already disadvantaged to do its job.

Nick,
IF you put a 400 pound bike 2 feet out in front, you know that's another 800 pounds bouncing around on the front suspension. Wonder if the springs or how the hitch is mounted to the frame can take that? Airflow is the least of your problems.

People put huge snowplows and such on the front of vehicles all the time

I got a super heavy duty receiver mounted at Scottys in Grand Junction Co with very lg grade 8 bolts, rated at 750 lbs tongue wt.

I'm going to try the above helper mod and will report back the results.

I really need to do this.
I'm a competition glider pilot and I need to tow my plane and have a MC for ground transportation on the front.

I can also get a Electric MC at under 200 lbs too if the weight poses a problem.
I'm most concerned about blocking the radiator, we will see.

Over heating is one of the top 3 worst things you can do to a engine, don't want to do that even once!

Why do you say the front axle is already disadvantaged?
Do you mean with the coach overhanging the cab its borderline wt wise already?

Make sure you get the RV weighed with the MC on the front, glider / trailer on the back, and RV setup as you will be driving it to events. Watch the tire pressures.

The front axle for most motorhomes is usually operating close to its limits for not only carrying the weight but also handling the weight dynamically. The response to road impacts and the rebound. Weight placed directly over the axle is a linear load. Weight placed out in front that weight is now leveraged, and the dynamic effects are compounded by that lever action. Do the trigonometry. If a road impact moves the coach say 2 inches, a load out front will be moved more and thus the suspension now has to deal with that load over say 6 inches instead of 2. Basically, now taking all the bad effects of the rear overhang and now making them up front also.
