I have owned a 2007 Southwind 32VS since April 2007 and am very pleased with it. I have a question regarding the weight bearing capacity of the floor in the closet, adjacent to the 2 door fridge. I would love to put extra items (some heavy) in the base of the cupboard but am worried about damaging it. Any idea please? BTW, my local dealer does not have a clue.

If you push down on floor surface does it feel solid and can you see by pulling out a draw under shelf if you can reinforce the floor from under it with a small board?

Welcome to the iRV2 forum!  You have come across the friendliest and most knowledgable group of RV owners on the web!  I certainly hope you also ask for some "Fleetwood Owners Karma". It just helps people see at a quick glance what type of RV you have...which also helps another Fleetwood owner key into the fact that they might be able to help yoou better than someone else! (Just say something like "Karma please" or "sign me up" and it will be done!  )
 I am sure you will get some other responses in the next few days in regards to what you can put in that closet...but in the meantime...continue to read and post with any other questions or even solutions you may have to help others!

Peter G Ducker, welcome to our website and forum. We are glad to have you join us. Have you ever weighed your coach when loaded? How much weight are you thinking of putting in closet? Do you think it will effect your corner weights of coach beyond safety and good handling? If not, do you by chance have a digital camera that you could take some photos of the underside? Let us know some of these answers and I am sure we can help you out.

If the 07 32VS is like the 04, there is a drawer under the wardrobe located directly across from the bathroom door. You can pull the drawer and there is room above it to mount some reinforcement and you can mount some aluminum angle pieces against the walls to hold it up.

Welcome to the irv2 forum. We have an 06 Southwind 32V, what we did was change the wardrobe into a pantry. The wife puts alot of pots and pans on the bottom of the pantry which amount to a sizable amount of weight. So unless you are putting very large amount of weight in there it should be fine.

Hi folks, first post here. We too are eyeing that closet for conversion into a pantry (as ED C notes). Just a question to other 32-foot Fleetwood owners. We were warned not to exceed 300 lbs in the slide-out storage pods. Naturally, all the fabulous understorage pods: are part of the driver-side dinette/couch slideout. Thus, it's easy to overload pantry items, water, tool box, etc...on the passenger side of the rig (where the pods are not part of the slide-out) How do you overcome? Is there a driver-side space you've developed for keeping the load balanced? Thanks for your insights.
