2008 Fleetwood Bounder 38

So recently I took my camper out and things seemed to work fine until the last day.
1. My refrigerator started flashing low DC
2. My lights started to dim
3. Checked battery voltage and it was down to 8 volts
4. I was plugged into shore power 50 amps
5. So when we left and headed down the road everything was fine.
What in the world is going on. HELP!!!!!!!!

2008 Fleetwood Bounder 38

Welcome to irv2.

Sounds like a converter/ inverter issue.

What model is your Bounder ?

Call FW and ask them if you have converter or inverter and where it's located. 800-322-8216. My 08 converter went bad and I replaced it on my 35E. If it's an inverter it may also be bad or a fuse / breaker.

The 2008 only had a 38P model no j

The reason you had 12V power going down the road is that the engine alternator was charging the house batteries.

Your 2008 has a 120V/12V AC/DC Converter.
When plugged into shore power the batteries should show a test of 13 + volts.
If not check if a breaker for the converter hasn't tripped.

If not then converter may be bad.

Hummmm!! They must of made so few of them that Fleetwood didn't bother to even make a Brochure for them.

By OP of having a 38J the NADA says the DP models were D-H-F-L-N-S-V
The DP model F does have a Battery Power Converter and the gas models the same. But that doesn't mean the DP models didn't have a option for a Inverter/Charger.

But the test for 13 + volts when plugged into shore power would be the same for either a working converter or Inverter/Charger which ever the OP has.
