2008 ISB Tail Pipe / Exhaust Tip

The tail pipe tip on my 2008 ISB Turbo is looking sad and rusty. I had read somewhere that there was a replacement for the OEM that resisted rusting. Now I can't seem to find the info. This is the end piece that some have described as looking like a vacuum cleaner attachment. It isn't a nice round, chrome, end pipe directed at the ground. It is more of a long rectangle. The good folks at Fleetwood have a FW part number but no picture, and I’m not sure we’re on the same page as to the piece I’m looking for. They say it’s a Cummins part and they have no cross reference. They said they would have to order it, would be happy to do so, or I could try Cummins local. I decided to try the local Cummins parts desk and they claim they only have engine and generator parts and the exhaust tip is Fleetwoods or whoever put the thing together. Local Freightliner doesn’t have a clue about it either.

Anyone replace this and have part number or idea who the responsible party is other than me… BTW – I have the personalized Cummins Parts book for my engine SN and it is not in there either.

Thanks much. I was afraid to do that. I figured - perhaps and apparently wrongly - that the design was intentional to handle the direction of heat from regeneration and possibly provide back pressure. Otherwise I can't imagine why they went with such a strange design. Then again, given how quickly the thing started to rust maybe they didn't give it much thought at all. Just fabricated a cheap piece of metal into a funny shape - sprayed some non-heat resistant paint on it and called it a day.

Would like to hear from others who have done the same or were able purchase the replacement.
