I read a post on the Palazzo site several weeks ago and someone said their residential fridge would go ten hours or so as I recall...then the auto gen would start and charge the four batteries...I believe my figure is correct. No one seemed to think it was a deal breaker.

These folks say their residential fridge will run 24 hours before starting the generator.

On paper the excursion looks to be way more expensive than the palazzo. Does anyone want to throw out there what they paid or their excursion?

We Googled the Forza by Winnebago. Apparently not out yet. No pics, just floor plans, decor, etc. Think the plan on the website was 35 ft. Has some interesting features such as fireplace and full queen bed (as opposed to short queen). And it may have a full wall slide, if I remember correctly. Always hesitant when it's the first model year. Don't know about Winnie quality these days...used to be pretty good. I think the Palazzo, Excursion and Forza are all competitively priced among the size coach you look at. We could have bought a Palazzo a little cheaper than the Excursion but with a lesser trade amount. The Thor dealer is just down the road from us, but has a terrible reputation. So we elected to buy 200 miles away from a 5-star rated Fleetwood dealership with a reputable service dept.

We have 2 - 120 watt solar panels and never have to run our gen. We dry camp at NASCAR and Indy for 7 days each time. The only time we use the gen is for the a/c.

Research them. Ask other owners.. Check online. There are many ways to research on various websites, including this one. No different than buying a car.

Dondar, you don't have your location in your signature, but I wonder what dealer gave you these prices. I priced a 2014 33D and it is 15K higher than your 35C! I did add the bedroom TV @ $858, residential fridge @ 1187, center table @ 200, power passenger seat @ 779, auto gen start @307, central vac system @ 350, roller shades @157, front mask @ 1251 and dual pane windows @572.....$5,661 retail.

One way to check a dealer is to look at posts and the towns where folks live and ask about the dealers rep.

My local Fleetwood dealer, Ancira RV, does not give their products away, BUT will take care of any problems with a smile on their faces. I would rather pay a little more and feel comfortable with my RV than put up with some "Oh, that is normal" service department.

WOW, I am impressed with your solar panel system. Could your share the cost and installation of these panels. Dealer installed? What size are these? I have a small solar panel on my Bounder, but not sure it works any more. I park in my barn when not in use and note the small red light on ceiling does not turn on when in the sun. As I remember it is about 18x18".....I will check the wiring and if I can't find anything wrong, I will take it to my Fleetwood dealer, Ancira RV of Boerne, TX....good folks.

If I buy a 33D Excursion, I will have these panels installed. Thanks.

As far as comparing the Palazzo and the Excursion I would make the time to go to attend both factory tours. Their factories are only a few hours apart from each other (Elkhart IN and Decatur IN). For the amount you are spending you want to see and compare how each house builder manufactures and put things together. For me after going to both I felt better with Fleetwood.

As far as pricing--asking these types of questions on forums is always challenging because dealers do different things based on trade, down payment, and options. I think the better rule of thumb (assuming you have no trade) is to go for at least minimum 25% off MSRP but fight for 27-30% off MSRP. Have dealers compete for your business. I did and it worked in my favor.

Notes guys. I have priced out a 33.2 palazzo at 140,000 out the door. I understand every deal is different but its good to talk about this occasionally just to make sure everything stays in check

Sorry, I have it updated now. I purchased both of mine From LaMesa in Davis, CA. Our 35C has the residential fridge, bedroom tv, center table, power passenger seats, cenral vac, etc. I don't have the dual pane or the washer/dryer, though. We had the washer/dryer in the 33A and decided we can do without (too small for my stuff). They have several 2013's on their site right now from 119-140. No mention of their pricing on the 2014's yet, other than the MSRP.
