2013 Expedition 38S or new 2018 Bounder LX?

A little advice, please. I'm trying to decide between a 2013 Expedition 38S in good condition, optioned out or a new 2018 Bounder LX. Seller of Expedition is asking $9k over dealers asking price for Bounder. I think they both have a little room in price. The new gasser vs used diesel pusher argument, I thought I could get a good read on this here, both being Fleetwoods.

Many thanks.

A 4 year old DP (assuming floor plan fits?) about same price as a new gasser.....DP no question imo. Bigger, heavier, better mpg, more torque, air ride vs springs and a screaming gas engine vs the rear Cummins....easy for me. Good luck and post up some pics

If your wife likes them both then get the Expedition. If she likes the Bounder better - get the Bounder!

Me personally I'd want the Expedition. Less of a hit on the depreciation as long as you don't overpay for it, and what gtsum2 above said for the other reasons.

You can do a search and come up with many many many threads on the topic of gas vs diesel.

Good luck.

I think it also depends on how you plan to use your RV. If lots of miles driven yearly and/or time in mountains a DP gets the nod.

If you do nit drive much then the gas coach can be easier and cheaper to maintain.

I had a Bounder, 08 38P and put 24k mikes on it over 6 years of ownership. It was a great coach and Fleetwood was great to deal with. Next coach will be a DP

Choose the floor plan that you like best, most of us spend more time stationary than moving. If you drive long distances, the diesel wins out as it will give you twice the range between fill-ups but the gas is easier to maintain and service. Fords new transmission and V-10 is equal in quality to the Allison and Cummins so I think you should decide on what floor plan you like best.

We bought a 2013 expedition 38B a year ago it's a great coach.
Before we bought a new 2005 Fleetwood Fiesta 32S which was a good coach, but the Expedition is a better coach than a gasser hands down.

Any thoughts on the new 2018 Bounder LX?

Looking at the new 2018 Bounder 33C but getting solid information is still somewhat difficult because of clearing out the 2017"s. Has anyone been considering the new 33C, changes from the 2017?
