2014 bounder 35k home entertainment confusion....help!

So first let me say, I have invested and built my own 5 seat, stadium seating, home theater in my house that is 3d. With all Bowers and Wilkins speakers and high end components. I did all the configuration and setup myself, is I am kind of electronic and sound savvy. But what the heck is with the entertainment system in the bounder with the home theater option?

Can anyone answer the following:

1- should the regular tv come through the surround if I have the amp on?
2- can I play a bluray to multiple TVS at the same time?
3- does anyone have a wiring diagram? I think mine is hooked up wrong.

If I understand how mine is working the main TV feeds the sound back to the sound system and so all sound "from that TV" will go to surround.

The BluRay seems to only be wired to the main TV as well. There is no HDMI switcher so ANY HDMI sources in the front (incl satellite) go to the main or you can manually connect the BR HDMI cable which is up there as well.

I do have a diagram for my unit and it's per the above. I'd suggest you get one for your VIN cause they seem to change the wiring from time to time even during a model year.

Yeah it's kind of dorky.

Fleetwood will happily send you a wiring diagram by email. They helped me with the confusing A/V setup in our Discovery - and I'm pretty well versed in electronics, having been licensed by the FCC for 52 years. They certainly could have done it better IMHO.

Here are the diagrams for a 2014 Bounder 35K HDMI wiring.

Oh BTW. In addition to my original response I should add that the "turning on" of the surround sound requires going into the setup of the TV and changing the output to external. I'd look up the menu and tell you but I'm at work. It's pretty straightforward though and I'm sure you are able to figure it out.

I wish they would have at least labeled each connector with what it was. All mine have is numbers on them that mean nothing to me.

Agreed on the numbering. I had to look at each wire and make sense of them. Some are easy since they go to junction boxes and are therefore outputs to TV's. Others are guesswork. I bought a circuit tracer for 30 bucks.

I had the same problem...no surround when watching TV, DVD's work great.

Studying the DAV-TZ140, I found nothing connected to the audio inputs...ie. no way to get sound into it.

The factory runs a optical audio connection in the wiring harness, but no analog audio from the TV - pure engineering genus. As I mentioned in another post, optical connection is there only to burn your retina's as there is no optical connection on the DAV-TZ140.

I think the quickest option is to buy this...

http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Optica...al+audio+cable

$10.95 shipped on amazon prime

Mine is on the way, I'll update you next week when it arrives. If it works, its better than trying to find a surround sound with optical audio

In my 2014 Bounder 35k, the front TV definitely has audio output to the surround sound. I just turn on the front tv and the surround system and select tv/cable on the surround system as the input function and the tv's speakers shut off automatically (message on screen for a second or two) and the front tv's audio is heard through the surround system's speakers. If I shut off the surround sound system and leave the front tv on, a message on the tv is displayed again and the tv speakers will turn back on.

I will check tomorrow if my front tv has an audio output cable to the surround sound. I never tried using the surround sound system with the mid tv. I will try the mid tv and surround together tomorrow. I have used a dvd with mid tv and surround system, but never tried to use surround on mid tv audio.

I just traced the stereo audio cable which was connected into rear of surround sound system. They do originate at the audio output of the front tv. An optical cable which originates at the mid tv is not connected behind the surround sound system.

Ron, please update on the optical to analog adapter.

I find that the volume level of the surround sound system is minimal when listening to the front tv audio through the system. If both air conditioners are running on high, it does not get loud enough to enjoy the system. It would be interesting to here if the output of the adapter Ron is purchasing would make the surround sound system's output louder. If not, a new surround sound system will be added to my wish list.

Jim

I'm no a/v expert, but can anyone tell me how to get to the back of my front and living room TV's in my 2012 35K. I'd like to get to the wiring to be able to trace out connections.

For the middle tv you can go in the half bathroom and remove the right picture that is hanging on the wall. Its held in place with Velcro and once removed you have access to the back of the tv.
