2014 Bounder 35K Power Management System

The package that came with my 2014 35K was very lacking in information on how the Power management system on the coach works. After some research this is what I have come up with. The system consists of 3 main components.

Surge Guard 40250-RVC This unit basically protects the unit from aberrant electrical input and provides the switching function for the generator. When the generator is switched on it becomes the primary source of power for the coach even if plugged into shore power the generator will override that. There should be a 30 second delay from the time the generator is turned on and it accepts the power demands from the coach.

Magnum Inverter MM1312. Provides 1200 watts AC and manages the battery charging functions, Bulk, Absorb and Float. If turned on at the switch it will supply AC to the circuits it is connected to. In my unit that seems to be the entertainment systems. If outside AC is available that will override the inverter.

Precision Circuits Power Control Center This is pretty neat what you can see is the circuit breaker box and the control panel located in the bedroom, what it does is based on what kind of power the coach is running. If on generator or 50amp pedestal power it monitors what is coming into the system and prevents a gross overload if too many things are turned on at the same time, something I doubt is possible. Now when connected to 30amp or 20amp it really gets interesting. If plugged into a non 50 amp pedestal you have a choice it will default to 30amp but at the control panel you can also select 20amp. Based on what the unit is told is available it will selectively turn components off or back on to keep the power requirements from exceeding what is available. Remember that Magnum inverter? The Precision Circuits system is connected to the Magnum and can supply additional AC from the battery bank thru the inverter for a limited time.

Yep. Basically the same setup as on the 2014 Southwind. Just an FYI - if the Bounder came with the basic on\off inverter remote you can upgrade to the programmable one. Among other things it allows you to control the output of the battery charger and also optionally you can add the Magnum battery monitor to it. I did both.

ME-RC Remote - Magnum Energy, Inc.

Battery Monitor Kit (ME-BMK) - Magnum Energy, Inc.
