heres where I'm at,...you won't get an argument from me... the v10 is more power and costs half...I paid 75k for a brand new gas and it cost me 135 for the diesel..close to double....the thing I always say is 2 reasons to buy a diesel pusher .. because you want to and because you can... it will never make economical sense ... and you will go slower...
but in the excursions defense.... quiet ...of the 500 miles we just went less than 5 miles of it was less than the 62 mph we were cruising at...the hills that the v10 dropped to third.. the dp hunkered down and pulled in 6th ..
the real steep grades got her... but she liked it ...

The gassers we were looking at were around $115 "discounted" price. We did not see a floor plan we liked. Then the dealer drove out the Excursion (2014 leftover), "discount" price $129. We liked the floor plan and it was a DP, so the rest was history. They would not budge on the price of the Excursion , I'll bet there was still some room on the gassers. But in my mind, I got a DP for $14k over the gas.
All that being said, you're right, you get a diesel because you want one.

Great thread. It is nice to see proof of your performance so I can compare to my experience. I doubt anything will help much with driving in cross wind, but I would be interested in your opinion on the wider tires impact. My 2015 33 D drives great without wind, so I do not think there is a problem other than my lack of experience. It sure does make for some highly puckered moments when going under a bridge, getting passed by a semi, with a 30mph gust hitting you in the side.

one of the things I noticed was if your run under fleetwoods tire pressure
you start getting sway.... not good... some lower to get a better ride..
I weighed my coach... went with the tire pressure on Michelins.... started sway'n....
I'm runn'n 100 psi on the 275's I notice less sway.... but what is there should be gone with gas charged bilstiens that are valve'd to the chassis
on the way back from Utah... 30 mph crosswinds.... two lane..on coming trucks..not much movement....but.. I have many years of short wheelbase towing... I went from a 158 wheelbase 26' coach.. to the 208....
what you have to learn is to not saw at the steering wheel.. which over corrects and causes more sway... hold the wheel straight and drive through it...the move ment is in the tires and suspension and will go back to straight...

I wish I could find a good tire place like you seem to have. I don't feel much in the way of vibrations, but the coach does seem to wander a bit while driving it. Not sure if it's pilot error or not.
You said Goodyear was picking up the tab on the fronts? I assume you're covering the other 4
Really nice seeing that Excursion going up that grade pulling a big trailer. The most I'll ever pull will be my car. Also don't have very many 6% grades in Florida. I'll have to head out your way to find those.

got the coach back from onan... no more smoke... they did the full sevice on it 250 bucks
... sucks that it new with 60hrs... guess that's why they are 75,000 discount
