2015 Discovery 40G OCCC

Hello all. I’m considering purchasing a 2015 40G, I cannot seem to find the UVW of OCCC on this model however. Anyone know what ballpark these will be in? Thanks!

I have a 2015 40X Discovery and my sticker says I can carry 4316 lbs.

If the GVWR is 33,400 lbs, your UVW would be 29,084 lbs. With that much carrying capacity, you do not have to worry unless you are putting a Jeep Wrangler on the roof of the RV or similar.

Filling the grey, fresh and black all the way to the top would still leave you over 2500 lbs of capacity.

Our 2015 Discovery has the same capacity, but we carry a minimum of stuff. Increases MPG, reduces stopping distances, increases acceleration, easier finding stuff, faster setting up.

Great, I appreciate the feedback! That is definitely more than I’ll need. I’m glad I won’t be in a position where I need to measure how much fresh water I’m adding to stay under the GVWR.

If I remember correctly, the 2015s had a rear axle rating of 21,000 lbs. So, it is very easy to overload the rear axle. I highly recommend you have your rig 4 wheel weighed. You may be surprised at how little spare weight capacity you have on the rear axle.

Our 2018 rear axle tips the scales at 21630 and that is traveling light. Fortunately, Fleetwood increased the rear axle capacity to 24,000 lbs.

Thanks, that was what I was concerned about. I knew they increased the axle capacities in 2017, wasn’t sure if it was to address a shortcoming or if they added weight to the LXE versions of the 40s.

I’ll definitely weigh either way.
