2016 Bounder 33C handling

Hi, I have searched all over for this info. We are looking at purchasing a 2016 Bounder 33C.

Does anyone have feed back on how it handles? Any issues?

Also, do you have the dryweight or CCC on this and wondering what the 30th anniversary package is.

Thanks

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Wish I could help but don't know anything about the Bounder. Just noticed you are new on the forum and wanted to say hello.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Just answered your question in a different thread.

But the handling on our 35K required a lot of attention/effort initially. We purchased the SteerSafe system from the owner and he installed it for free in Deming, NM.

Driving the RV now is a lot like driving a car. You're still a huge box going down the road; but there's a lot less fighting the steering wheel.

We had a 2016 Bounder 33C for a year. It was our first motor home. I decided to trade it in for a diesel pusher after a trip to Western Pennsylvania. The main reason was that I had difficulty handling it on the road and it’s ability to handle the hills.

Keep in mind that I was an inexperienced driver and we did no modifications to the chassis. I have also learned the transmission has since been upgraded from 5 to six speeds.

I found the Bounder was difficult to handle in high winds. Even on a calm day a semi passing would cause the rig to sway. On a windy day in a narrow construction zone, it was a nightmare.

On hills it tried hard but struggled greatly against the grade. The newer six speed transmission may help, but i ive found more torque and horsepower is the key to happiness.

Thanks for the replies, they are very helpful. Seems like with gas and the Ford Chassis that mods are needed for a decent ride.

I am also considering an Excursion (diesel) especially for the power since we will be pulling a Jeep Rubicon that will be 4500 lbs min.

I have a 35k. I did the CHF front and rear and it drives like a car. I plan on doing no other suspension mods. I live in Western PA and do long distance travel, FL, SC, GA, TN. The CHF made a dramatic difference in sway from passing trucks. You need to adjust expectations of how these vehicles will handle, they are not small. I think people have a very distorted view of what a motorhome should drive like, and I'm speaking as an experienced CDL Class A Truck Driver.

The first MoHO I ever drove was a 2005 Fleetwood Discovery 39L on a Freightliner chassis with a 330 CAT. I used to drive it for a guy and his wife as a limo when they went to dinner, business trips and their kids sporting events. I clearly remember white knuckling in high winds and when trucks would pass, so don't let anyone tell you a DP does any better, unless you get up to something that weighs around 35-40k or has a boagie.
