2018 - Tail light surround became loose

Anyone else have this issue? The clips holding the tail light surround detached.

I'm going to try some super strong epoxy to re-attach them.

Try some "Automotive Goop" works great.

Be sure to give it 24 hours to cure.

Happy Glamping.

I used JB Weld

Hello- We had this issue last year. I used JB Weld epxoy. I removed both covers and found all 4 clips were minimally attached. They are still holding strong.

Yep, same on my 2016. Mine was replaced under warranty. Seems to be a common issue. I was told it needed to be replaced not repaired.

I used JB Weld 50139 Epoxy will see how it holds up - says it is good for metal-plastic truck bodywork bonding. I only left it a couple of hours to cure, hopefully it holds up.

I haven't looked at the right hand side -- it seems to be on fairly tight. I know they will come off if I mess with it.

Mine fell off on highway. Dealer put 2 screws in at the bottom on an angle right into the fiberglass body on both covers. Clips are worthless

I would also try try the JB WELD, they have a formula just for plastics, got it at WalMart last week, about $7. Just clean the plastic good and on my test piece, it seems very good. You can also put some extra epoxy around the edges and build it up over the bottom edges of the clip making the adhesive area larger.

I might be corrected, but I think the JB WELD steel shown above is a very rigid, hard formula. The plastic formula is more pliable after cured, so it can slightly flex like plastic.

I haven't yet been disappointed in a JB WELD product.

They pull out at the bottom, but most likely the glue will part ways and you'll wind up like in my photos.
