30 Amp Useage

Good Afternoon,

My wife and I will do our first outing in our Bounder 35K this weekend. We planned a small trip, just to wet our feet. The hookup is 30 amp and we live in Florida. Is it possible to run both of the AC's with the 30 amp hook up? I am thinking its possible but wouldn't be able to operate other appliances such as the Microwave/Confection Oven. We would have to turn one of the AC's off if we used the appliance, correct?

Welcome. You are correct. I had a 35E and operated this way while on 30 amps many times. Try to remember to manage the AC's when using other appliances. Turn your water heater to run on propane . Your EMS would manage this and shut down an AC to allow whatever else you were trying to operate , however I tried never to do this as it puts an undue strain on the system.

Don't forget that the converter/charger can draw 5 to 10 amps when it's powering 12 volt loads and recharging the batteries. You might consider turning it off and running off battery power when both A/C units are operating, then turning it back on when you are only running one A/C.

Tough to say whether you will get away with running 2 A/C's on 30A or not.

I had 2 of mine running at home ( one 15K - one 13.5K ), with everything else turned off (including battery charger), or burning propane. Tried turning LR TV on, and even that was enough to put me over the edge, and one A/C shut down.

The Fleetwood's power monitoring system will know that you are hooked up to a 30 amp source and it will mostly unnoticably shot down the rear a/c compressor, etc, when necessary. It really is a good system.

Just barely and if there is nothing else running.
You need to install a dual power adapter, so that you can run the rear ac on a separate pedestal circuit.
With the way it is now and with hopefully having an EMS system to monitor things, it should shed one of more ac's when you start up the microwave,...etc. and then come back on automatically, soon after the load subsides to within limits. I had to change my EMS values, so that it would only shed the ac's and nothing else and really all that's really necessary, in most all cases.
