'83 Southwind Hello and help in
Hello everyone and thanks for letting me join. I'm new to all this RV stuff, and have a question for you. I'm trying to find the correct name for this part. The rubbers are worn and have Brokeway and pushed the floor up. I have a 1983 Fleetwood southwind 37 ft.

Link is repaired. Welcome to the forum. Looks like a stabilizing jack to me but part of it seems to be missing.

...not clear what part you are referring to in the picture....the challenge will be finding OEM parts for a 37 year old RV--passenger cars that age are hard enough to find. You may have to replace with a more modern option....more information would be helpful...

The picture appears to show a rubber insulator , that has used to be molded between the two metal plates and has broken loose .
You'd need to determine what the mount plates and insulators are actually designed to support ; with damage to the floor already visible ; then perhaps it was an attempt to insulate the coach body from the chassis vibrations and a system no longer in use.
Do you see another similar mount ( for lack of a better term ) on the other side of the RV ?

Both sides are the same, I took it out on the road and I noticed it was leaning on passenger side and hump formed in front of the bathroom floor. I looked underneath and the square pipe in between the 2 boxes with rubber was pushed up to the floor. Can a new system be put in place of this one? What is the name of this device? Thank you

I would call it a coach mount , and this is the only time I've seen such a device used .
Questions .
Is the square tube secured to the frame of the chassis ?
Is the orange box a through bolt ; through the square tube; and the blue circles
bolts that hold the plates to the coach body?
Is there another bolt through the tube further up ?
Is this behind the rear wheels of the RV ?

I will look tomorrow and take more pictures, I see that I put the wrong year. It's a 93 fleetwood southwind 37ft what the picture shows is in between the rear tires and the cheater tires. Thanks for your help.

Could you add the chassis manufacturer to your post if you have a Ford chassis with a tag axle the piece could be part of the axle mounting.
