94 American Eagle alternator

I have to replace the alternator on the 94 american eagle.
Any suggestion where to buy one with a good warranty and quality?
Thanks John

I purchased one at NAPA
He said it was a Freightliner part number at the time.

And a few years latter one at a MACK truck dealer for less a few years latter.

I always have them rebuilt ,$200 to $300.
And cary a spare.

I looked at a photo of it and it looks like the winding are discolored . Will go to the mechanic on Monday and pick it up. He sent it out to a repair shop that rebuilt it last December and now he said it can't be rebuilt

If your 94 is like my 98 you need a 160 amp Leece Neville DUVAC alternator.

Here is a link where you can purchase one:

https://www.amazon.com/Alternator-Mo.../dp/B071HBSZJQ

Do not purchase a less expensive Leece Neville w/o the DUVAC capability.

Spartan should be able to confirm, ditto for Gillig if you have a Gillig Chassis.

I picked up the alternator and it is a Delco Remy 1117926 that is discontinued.
Called Delco and they gave me a distributor here Fleet Prive that sells them but not in stock. First I called Spartan for the part Number. So I am not sure about getting the Leece Nevelle
What is DUVAC.

DUVAC is an acronym for DUal Voltage Alternator Control. It's a voltage management system that is used when multiple batteries are required.

This feature basically gives the alternator the ability to detect when your battery banks need a charge and to charge those banks accordingly.

This allows your chassis and house battery banks to be charged when the engine is running.

Spartan should be able to give you specifics on your alternator. They do stock the Leece Neville 160 amp models...don't know if they stock the Delco Remy.

But, they should be able to tell you if the Leece Neville is a drop in replacement.

Good luck!

It's most likely a Delco 21 SI--Very common-- Bolts on and plug N Play.
160 AMP.

I am looking at the back of this Delco and see two other post but I think they are not being used as they are all that are marked r and I. Is that for the DUVAC?

When I talked to Spartan they told me that the DUCAC is attached to the chassis. I guess it could be different on your 98
