Question '95 Southwind questions

My hubby and I are newbies to the whole rv'ing thing. Took our new to us '95 Southwind and kiddoes to a nearby KOA. We found out there were some things we could not figure out.

Does anyone know where the water filter is located? Our owners manuel says the MH has one but does not quite say where.

There is a light on the drivers side of the MH, just like the porch light but on the opposite side, we cannot figure out for the life or us where the switch is to turn it on.

Also the black tank was a headache to dump and we had to do this at home with the manuel screw because the electric button was not working, I am hoping someone has any piece of advice for us. Hubby is hoping it may be a fuse. This could turn out to be a huge problem as the screw is aluminum and very fragile and it was quite smelling driving home (I know I know what do I expect whith a full black tank, lol!)

Thanks!

I would be surprised if a 95 Southwind has a water filter unless added aftermarket. It wasn't common back then and my 96 Southwind 36 footer do not have one from the factory.

The electric dump valve is also an aftermarket add-on. Try tracing the wiring and use a voltmeter to check for 12v at close as you can to the valve. That will tell you if it is a fuse or the valve itself.

Look under the kitchen sink for the water filter. It only supplies the small chrome spicket by the sink. The filter was standard equipment on my Bounder. You Southwind is a step up from my MH, so it should be standard equipment also. The left side exterior light is connected to the green switch on the dash marked "utility". It also turns on the under hood light.
