97í American Eagle fridge parts.

Hello and first off thank you to the guys that responded to my first ever post and made my life much easier with my generator slide question. Now onto the second issue. We have a 97í american Eagle and the fridge works but needs some parts. Manly the hinges on the doors are in a bad shape. The bottom pivot points seem to be corroded away. Can parts be ordered for these or might it be time for a new fridge, I do believe itís the original one? I have several fridge related questions but weíll see about the hinges first and go from there. Thank you.

I think your 97 has the same Dometic side by side fridge as my 98.

Here is a link to the parts list manual for that model:

I believe you can order directly from Dometic the parts that you need.

We have been looking for a replacement door handle for our 99í Dometic without success. It looks like the options are to find one between removal and dumpster, or to 3D design and print one. I am considering the latter as a learning exercise.

There were some improved third party hinge replacements on the market. Check with RV dealers and surplus houses like Bontragerís in MI.

Excellent info! I suppose I first need to get the model and serial number off of the fridge and go from there. It definitely is a domestic unsure of the model though.

There were 2 models of refrigerators available on the 97 Eagle.

If yours has double doors and operates either on 120 volt or propane it is most likely the 7732.

If it is not side by side and has options to run off of 120 volt AC, 12 volt DC or propane it is a different model.

The 7732 was considered an upgrade on the 97 Eagle.

I looked for hinges for my 7732 and couldn't locate any - maybe the whole door from a boneyard - but I could find the pins that went thru the hinges to hold the door in place. Got them from dometic. Since that didn't fix the hinge problem I had a metal "strap" made. This was a thin piece that went the length of the top of the door and a hole for the pins to fit thru. Never had a problem since. Just another option.
