98 American Dream Rusty basement frame

The frame work just in front of my rear wheels is rusting pretty good. I need to know if anyone here has the schematics for the basement framework. I would like to have this before I start cuting braces out and replacing the frame work.
If any one know where I can get these pleases let me know..

I think you will be able to get these drawings from Spartan or at least the dimensions for the frame structures themselves.

Good luck with this repair!!!

You're probably talking about the storage bin framework and not the actual chassis frame, correct? I would hope you aren't trying to replace any chassis framework.

The storage bin/motorhome body framework schematics can probably be had by contacting American Coach. Deb and another gal there are awesome. Deb has been there since at least '98 as I have materials from the former owner of my coach that reference her!

I have this problem with our old Bounder. The bottom horizontal steel rectangular tube which all the vertical supports are welded to is thoroughly rusted. The tube runs the full length of the coach between the front and rear wheels on the driver side. The inside wall has luan plywood which extends all the way to the bottom of the coach body, with this surface exposed to all the elements. The bottom of the luan absorbed water and held it against the steel. The steel walls of the horizontal tube are not much thicker than a steel coffee can and the inner facing wall of this tube have deteriorated to the point, that I can poke my finger into it in places.
In addition the very thin metal skin covering the outside skin of the rear compartments has to be replaced. I plan on having a sheet metal shop form new skins of galvanized steel to remedy the compartment skins problem.
I am still studying how I will go about fixing the bottom framing, but I can tell you it will not involve luan plywood. This is the first time I have noticed anyone faced with my problem and will be very interested in your method of repair.
