Angry A/C rip off

Took my coach to Freightliner dealer to repair dash a/c "not cooling" not running compressor no noise. Dealer set appointment said was cover by warranty 2 yrs. To make this shorter Dealer comes back after 5 mins and said not chassis side of a/c repaired and bill of 143.50. I later look at fuse relay box and find one relay replaced (I marked them ) Did I get ripped off or is this sop?

Shop labor rate = $140 per hour, Relay = $3.50... Yep, sounds about right!

You should have received an itemized bill. There are some parts of the chassis installed by the chassis manufacturer and some installed by the coach builder. It is often difficult to determine what is coved by warranty and what is not covered.

I'm sure the labor rate was about $100 an hour and many shops have a one hour minimun. Then there is the cost of the part (relay) and sales tax. Just think of it this way - you got the problem fixed and it could have cost much more. \

you could call the 800 number, provide them your vin and they can print or email you a list of exactly what was installed by fl or the up fitter (coach builder)

i did this last year concerning the a/c compressor lines.....
fl installed the compressor but not the long lings to the front of the bus.
so damon picked up the a/c repair and fl paid for an ORING

I wish they would fix mine for that price. No one seems to be able to find the problem. I suspect a vacuum leak. Same chassis. Freightliner is only responsible for the the compressor, and maybe the evaporator. The coach Mfg is responsible for everything in between.
