AC compressor turning into a saga........

If you saw my other post about the noise in my AC compressor you saw I decided to replace it. I ordered a new one from Rockauto plus belt, idler pulley etc, etc.

Nice day today, jacked up the rig and took the old one off, not too difficult but time consuming.

Discovered it had a different electrical connection, found one at the parts store and they'll have it for me tomorrow.

Went to put the new on the rv and nope, totally wrong compressor after all. Rockauto and most websites show a FS10 compressor for this ford. It's not, it is a Sanden 4730.

So I ordered one of those with overnight delivery for Wed this week.

If you need to order a compressor put eyes on the old one first so you get the right one the first time.

I'll try to post pics when the new one comes

That's one of the neat things about cell phones, I can take a picture of the make/model tag to show to the parts store before spending money. I've even texted them the picture when I can cajole one of the counter folks to giving me their phone #; then the part is waiting when I arrive with CC in hand.

Good info. I hadn’t taken the unit out before i purchased the new one trusting Rockauto to have the right one listed
