Allison 1000 transmission

Hello Friends.

Can the group tell me the primary difference between the Allison 1000 vs 2500 transmission. I have the series 1000 in my 2004 Fleetwood Bounder. No problems just curious. Is the 1000 considered a good transmission? I have the 5 speed automatic with Overdrive.

Thank you

The primary difference is that the 2200/2500 models are rated for heavier coaches.

This chart will help with the specs for each model.

The 1000 5-speed is fine as far as quality is concerned, but the 6-speed versions performs better in most situations
