Am cammping with a friend in Webster MA. and his charging system
is not working a designed. I have checked power input, 3 seperate 115VAC
but no DC out. I am thinking it is lack of control, as the microprocessor
does not seem to acknowledge that we have AC input????
It is a Hart something charger/invert, Model#20, (2000W inveter)
Anyone suggest a web site I can go to with a trouble shooting guide??
There is supposed to be 2amp fuse 7in. from the batterys,(coach or chassie?)
but so far we can not find it... most likely a sense line fuse?????
Any help would be appreciated............Tenn.

Are you checking the power output right at the inverter/charger terminals, at the batteries or in between at the BCC (Battery Charge Controller)? Sometimes the problem is that the BCC is not passing the cahrge voltage on to either house or chassis batteries - or both.
Heart Interface (now Xantrex) is stingy on technical documentation and not all that great on telephone or email customer support either.
Here's a link to a Heart 458 manual that covers the 15 & 20 series inverters. May not be exactly what you have, but should be very similar in design. Heart Freedom 458-20
You could also try the Xantrex website for info

RV ROAMER, I checked the input power into the Heart unit, 3 inputs of 110V.
into the bank of 2rows of 4 relays each....very inpressive!!!!!!!!!!!!
Could not get 12volts to the batteries, and could not find a fuze between
output and batteries. Or a place to check for 12Volts...
He finished the trip with a 25 dollar charger from Wally-World.
I still think the controller in the coach did not reconize that
110v was available, as the 110v light was not lite on the unit.
He had a power hit on coach just before the trip that took out
his microwave, and may have got the brains to the Heart???
Thanks for the information!!!!!!TENN.

If the charger/inverter is under the rear bed..... Look on the top cover there should be three surface mounted fuse holders. If you pull all three and check them you may find one bad. Even if you don't, by pulling the fuses and then replacing them it resets the converter, charger. You will hear the relays operate when you put the fuses back in, so don't be surprised..
Sometimes you will have to remove a cover panel to see the DC output lugs... It will look like a birds nest in there too!
My 02 Dream did this to me... Also if the batteries are WAY down the converter/charger will trip due to over current. Then will not reset and try again until you power completely down. (A.C. from the supply and D.C. at the D.C. cut-off switch)
Now the BAD news... IF the things I listed don't make it start putting out DC at the output of the inverter/charger you are in for some fun.....
I had one relay go bad and it drove me NUTS! (Well nuttier than normal) Everything would work while running the gen. but not of commercial power. It took a while but I FINALLY figured out the problem after I go my hot little hands on the schematic to the coach as to how the system American Coach uses was set up.
