American Coach paint codes

I am trying to source exterior paint for my 2003 American Coach, American Eagle. The original paint codes are posted inside the rear wardrobe. I have not been able to cross the listed codes with a currently available paint. Short of taking the coach to a body shop with paint matching capability, does anyone know how to cross the American Coach paint codes with a current paint supplier?

I seem to recall that AC used Sherwin Williams paints & codes back then. Other paint mfgrs may have a way to cross-ref to them..

Good luck, and please post back if you get the paint codes crossed to new ones. I came up empty on the codes for my '99 Dream. My BIL works for PPG automotive paints and couldn't get them after quite a bit of digging. He ended up using his paint matching tool to generate new PPG codes and made me samples. Haven't sprayed them yet to check match, but that might be an avenue for you. Local automotive paint suppliers near you should have a similar service.

I hit a sign post that was 2 feet off the ground. I dented one of the outside doors. Fixed that and went to my local car parts dealer with the door. They had a paint guy there and he mixed a rattle can of matching paint for me. Worked perfectly.

Try paintscratch.com. I just checked and they have 2003 American Coach colors available.

Sherman Williams can “shoot” the area you want to paint to mix a matching paint. As a RV ages, the color may fade. Going back to the original mix may no longer match.

Thanks

Thanks to all who replied. All good information. I had thought about the aging of the paint and that is a good argument for going the paint match route rather than the paint color code route. I will check out all options.

Fortunately the removable exterior panel behind the refrigerator has all four colors of my paint scheme. Easy to take to the paint shop vs taking the Motorhome. I only need one or two of the colors to touch up where the previous owner (repeated by me) moved a slide with a basement door open. NOT a good idea. scratches are not too bad so touch up will help.

I also have a single spot high on the rear of the coach where the clear coat is peeling. It is a round spot about the size of a half dollar. Hardly noticeable unless you know it is there. Then your eyes go right to it. For that I mostly want to seal it up with some fresh clear coat to keep moisture from seeping under the edges.

My rig has always been garaged. Considering its age I can't complain much about the paint. It does have the classic American Coach checking of the darker color. Not much I can do about that short of re-shooting. And I'm a long way away from that.

Again, thanks for the suggestions. I truly love this forum.
