American Coach vs Newmar “R” values

We are considering trading up to a new American Coach Eagle vs a new Newmar Essex but have noticed that the R values in the Eagle are considerably lower than the Essex. The Newmar’s appears to be much better insulated - walls, roof & floor.

Would like to hear your thoughts on this especially from those who have owned both. In my mind, this is a big deal in terms of being able to keep the coach cool or warm.

Your thoughts on other differences would also be appreciated - fit & finish, ride, handling, build quality, factory service, etc.

Thanks!

We have owned to ACs, and have never seen R values mentioned anywhere. At that price point, I would think the insulation in both would be pretty good.

I can’t comment about the past but The R values are currently indicated on their website under the Construction heading of each model. Have you had any problems keeping your coach cool or warm?

We have had 3 Newmars to 1 American
The present Newmar is much cooler than the American ....when traveling, the rear bathroom on the American was extremely hot...you didn't want to walk barefoot on the floor and took forever to cool...not the Newmar....
If you take the engine cover up on the American, there is the engine...on the Newmar, there is another cover over the engine and under the floor...keeps it so much cooler....look behind the front tv on the American, you see the inside of the fiberglass cap..no insulation
Always had to vacuum the dirt/dust inside the American....had to come in the gaps in the body...none in the Newmar
Service between the two companies is just another story...C

No problems with warm or cold weather. The Aqua Hot takes care of winter and the three 15k BTUs take care of summer heat.
