Any Recommendations for Tire Pressure Monitors

I am looking to purchase a set of RV tire pressure monitors for our 2011 Fleetwood Terra 34DS. Does anyone have a good recommendation of a good brand or experience with using these monitors?

Thanks,

I have tire minder from minder research. They have a simple yet effective product. Their customer service is on my list of awesom companies. The small button cell batteries that they use they will give you free batteries every year for a small shipping charge. They even throw in seals and caps if you request them. After 5 years of using them i would buy them again.

Newbie question: If I purchase a TPMS for my coach, how do I install the sensor component in the tire? Unmount/Remount the tire? Unscrew the stem and screw in something new? (Then fill it back up to required pressure?).

Joe, as I understand it, they screw onto your existing valve stems. sounds pretty easy to complete the task!

I have a TST 507RV. The sensors screw onto the valve stems and then the monitor attaches to my windshield with a suction cup mount. It's got a great battery and doesn't require being plugged in until it needs to be recharged, which isn't required very often. You'll want to make sure you've got metal valve stems. I've been happy with it so far.

I too would recommend the latest version of the Tire Minder and I agree, their customer service is second to none. Super easy to set up.

Ditto. My advice is to resist the urge for the "flow-thru" sensors and go with simpler screw-on type that look like an oversized valve cap. The flow-thru ones don't seem to hold up as well as the simpler models. And you have to unscrew a cap on the flow-thru ones to fill or let out air anyway, so why not just spin off the non-flow-thru sensor and be done. Sometimes, simpler is better.

Thanks for all the good recommendations. I finally settled on the TST 507RV. As I was installing them, I noticed that on the front wheel cover that when the tires were installed at the factory someone put the cover on wrong and the cover had worn into the steel valve stem. I thought at first it wasn't very deep. Took it to a trucking firm here in Fort Worth to have the stem replaced and the stem had a hole in it from the wheel cover vibrating and rubbing against the stem. The only thing that was keeping the air from escaping was the valve core. The valve core had a red rubber seal that when it was screwed into the stem blocked the hole. Cowser Tire and Service did a great job. Kudos to Doug Rose sales and mechanics for getting us road ready again.

About to install the TireMinder TM66 (manufacturer literally is down the road from me). One thing to carefully consider is the orientation of and access to your valve stems on your rear duals. Sometimes it can be difficult to fish your hand through a wheel hole to remove the valve cap on an inward-facing valve stem and this will only be more difficult when R & Ring a TPMS transmitter. Since I have to use a valve cap remover tool on the inside rear wheels, I won't be placing a transmitter there just yet. Mainly interested in monitoring the steer and toad tires anyway. You'll also need to install the signal repeater that comes with the TM kit.

While TireMinder is a solid and well supported product, don't let the free batteries promo take you away . . . those CR1632 3V batteries are abundant and inexpensive on ebaY/Amazon.
