Aqua-Hot Diesel w/Empty Fresh Water
Is the Aqua-Hot Diesel mode safe to use when the fresh tank is empty? Obviously I am not looking for hot water! I would like to scheudle my tile floor heat for a few weeks at night until I have an opportunity to blow out my lines and prep for winter.
Assuming there are two loops. 1- antifreeze floor, radiator and block heater loop and 2-Fresh Hot water loop. What I do not know is is if the Hot Water loop will boil if empty. I get warnings in the Vera app telling me my water level is low, I know this as it was intentional!

180 is the top temp cutoff so it should be ok. You may want to check with one of the repair places that are online. The aquahot has a low coolant shut off. I never heard of a low water gauge on one. You aren't talking about the fresh water tank are you?

Aquahot doesn’t recommend blowout the lines. They recommend running rv antifreeze thru the old fashion way.
Please read your manual
Also, running Aqua without water or antifreeze in the system will ruin the system.
Below is from Aquahot's website

Ok, so I will wait until I have the fresh lines full of anti-freeze. I did read the aqua-got manual and did not see anything indicating what NOT to do if fresh water loop is dry.

I did this by mistake and didn't have an issue so far..... It ended up heating the boiler solution ( pink super $$ antifreeze ) and made the heat in the coach work just fine...
Its just a copper loop within the aqua hot to transfer to the fresh water .... No water just the copper gets heated The unit truly isn't that tricky

Take all information as needed. But you can run just the heater part of the aqua hot without any water. And they tell you to put the antifreeze in the system because people don’t winterize properly.

Not sure what year model Discovery you have, but I'm pretty sure it has the Aqua-Hot 400D. If that is indeed the case, your AH only heats from 2 sources, electric and diesel. There is no hot water loop from the engine, (no hot water generated from the engine) that option only comes with the 450D. Also, there is no engine block heat supplied from your AH, on the Discovery, that is an electric element.
You also mentioned floor heat... for the Discovery, that is supplied by an electric element and hot by the AH.
But to answer your question, you can absolutely operate your AH to supply heat with the fresh water system emptied and or drained. As others have mentioned, you must winterize by pumping antifreeze and not use air only.

Yes, I do it all the time in the winter.

Yeah, I've had no issues using the AH to heat the coach with an empty fresh water system.
