Are Bounders good? Getting ready to buy one and need your input

Hi friends I have looked at 100's of RV's and am about to pull the trigger to buy this one and I sure would appreciate any input from anyone that has one of these.

This is my first RV and I will be living in it full time. Check it out here:

We were a Fleetwood dealer. When it was time to trade, I chose a Fleetwood product. Fleetwood makes a very good product. The are great for full timing because they have a high weight carrying capacity. My 35 ft Pace Arrow gas has a carrying capacity of well over 4 thousand pounds. Our dealership sold some diesel pushers that would only carry 1500 pounds. I would highly recommend a Bounder.

We have a 99 class gas, and are thinking about getting a newer year of bounder.

The Fleetwood products are well made. When you look for Bounder also look at Southwind.
A Bounder 33C is the exact floor plan and Rv as a Southwind 34A. Also Holiday Ramblers have equal floor plans all built in Decanter REV/Fleetwood plant. We toured the factory, the tour guide was often confused of the difference until he saw interior trims or paint patterns. Find the best one for you hard earned money, then drive the wheels off.

Thanks for that, I really like this one. The price is a little high for me but it is the exact floorplan I want.

Price is negotiable. Search the internet for that particular yr/model & see what they're going for. Then make an offer & see where it goes.

I have been checking the prices around the country on this model and year and there asking price seems reasonable at $89,900 but I know that all dealers have wiggle room on their price so I asked if they would take $85,000 The salesman is going to ask the dealer owner about it and get back with me today...we'll see!!

My 30th anniversary 2016 Bounder nothing but headaches. Fleetwood QC really lacking this model year. Chassis issues (Actually a Ford, not Fleetwood issue), leaking windshield, roof and windows, entry door has air leaks, Made in China fireplace blower fan quit just after 12-month warranty expired, bedroom slide out inoperative due to wall switch glitch....I can go on.

We love our 2015 Bounder 33C. Floor plan is great. Plenty of storage both in and out. Rides and handles great. A little loud and hot on the long running summer days. Plan on doing some mods on the doghouse and firewall up front. Overall very satisfied with 20k on it the first full year!

We have a 2014 Southwind 32VS. Kind of a sister to the Bounder. in two years and 15K miles we've had very few issues and those have been minor. This is our 3rd motorhome and we're very happy with it.

Gross weight: 22,000 lbs
Dry weight: 19,776 lbs

That leaves 2,224 lbs for:
Fuel, 80 gallons at 6.183 lbs/gallon: 494.64 lbs
Fresh Water, 85 gallons at 8.36 lbs/gallon: 710.6 lbs
Driver, you look skinny, so figure 185 lbs
Groceries, say 300 lbs
Pots & pans, say 200 lbs
Clothing, odds and ends dvd player, dvd's books etc, say 300 lbs MINIMUM especially since this will be your full time home . . .
Misc Tools: 50 lbs
Windshield covers, tire covers, extra oil and/or antifreeze, grease gun, cleaning supplies, vacuum cleaner, outside mat, etc: 100 lbs
Outside chairs, grill, ice chest, sewer hose, chocks, wheel leveling pads etc: 200 lbs

Remember, even though you may have SPACE, you may not have ALLOWABLE WEIGHT!

Using these figures, you are at 2,540.24, which is 316.24 lbs OVER your Maximum Gross Weight, before you start the motor.

It also doesn't include:

Spare tire (if equipped)
rolling sewer caddy (to dump tanks without moving coach)
Passengers
Any water in grey or black tanks, or stuff you want to buy along the way if traveling . . . .

Even if you like the coach A LOT, I would look for one that has more cargo carrying capacity than this coach, ESPECIALLY if you will be full timing it!

Wow that's some amazing info. What about towing my car? It is a 2009 Ford Focus 2600 pounds along with a tow dolly that weighs 450 pounds?

Since the tow car and dolly are not weight sitting on the motor home but are being pulled does this also calculate into the weight capacity?
