Atwood Comfort Control System (ACCS) Thermostat MPD33910

My 2004 American Tradition (40L) has the Atwood Thermostat (MPD 33910 is number on top right of brochure/instruction sheet) that is acting up and needs possible replacement. Atwood has been taken over by Dometic but they're no help. Any suggestions on replacement?

Thank You, Jack Ricardo

There is no fully compatible replacement. You can use the Dometic 5 button control system, but will need to change out the two zone controllers to work with it (gets expensive!)

You might get lucky at an RV salvage year, but the Atwood CCS units are rare there as well.

Snip

That's too bad. I would love to replace mine as you can hardly read the display. What were they thinking when using that display? It's poorly lit and the numbers are so small it should have come with a magnifying glass.

2004 American Tradition mpd 33910 Thermostat

Jack...just like to know if you came up with a solution for your Dometic thermostat. If so, can you let me know what you came up with. I may be in the same situation as you and really don't want to rewire the system.

Thanks
Gary

I added more lighting in that cabinet on my '04 and it helped tremendously. I also left a pair of reading glasses there, just in case! I wired a strip of led lights across the front inner edge and connected to the interior light that is already there, so they come on when the door is opened.

Don't know if this is still valid, but a few years back I came across the name of a guy who claimed he has rebuilt Atwood ACCS thermostats. You have to provide your non-working one as an exchange. Get in touch and maybe he can help

I think this shop can repair your ACCS. They hand-repair many types of circuit boards.

I have had two different 4-button (obsolete) duo-therm CCS refurbished. I googled the part number. Last time was on Ebay.

Gary,

No solution, I was fortunate to get a used thermostat from a owner of a 2004 Eagle who had done a replacement.
