Awning

Need to replace my weather pro power awning motor 2004 Discovery.I was told I could remove the motor but pin the left side spring assembly.Anybody know if this is true or the proper procedure to replacing the motor?

Yes to pinning the spring end.....factory uses a long cotter key......drill out rivets and pull the motor out.....I did mine with it rolled up as it was easier to support the roller.....a nail would also work...

I supported the roller with a ratchet strap off my ota antenna......it's not heavy, just awkward.....

08 Discovery - AWNING MOTOR - Dometic 3307923.115U Black WeatherPro

I just replaced mine. The referenced motor is part # provided by REV for my '08 Discovery 40X. It may be the same on yours.

It is straight forward. My awning was stuck about 18" extended. Easy to work on after inserting cotter pins. 3 rivets to drill out; new ones came with the motor.

BTW, REV wanted $593 and a local supplier $598. I found it on eBay for $459, shipping included. New, not rebuilt. Lots on Amazon and others on eBay ran more.
