Bathtub conversion

This subject may have been covered on this forum but I haven't found it yet. I have a 1999 Bounder 34J. As far as I can tell, they all came with a bathtub. My wife has some mobility issues and has a hard time climbing in and out of the tub. Has anyone converted one of these to a shower. I've also wondered if you could cut out a section of the side and seal it. I'm not sure that the tub would be strong enough to withstand that kind of modification anyway. Any suggestions? Since the bathroom looks to be in really good shape Id be inclined to modify the existing tub rather than ripping it out and trying to fit a new shower kit to it. Find someone good with fiberglass (or pvc if thats what it is). This should be a fairly easy mod and can be done with some minor reinforcement so it retains its rigidity and result in about a 3- 4” step. Feel free to PM for specifics.

I have the same bathroom setup and also have been interested in converting to shower only..Haven't started the project but am interested what others have done, Didn't think about the side modification which could be a good solution. I was going to remove entire bath tub and rebuild with shower only..looking forward to suggestions..
