Question Battery connections 1990 pace arrow

Hello all, I'm new to this so please be patient.

I just bought a 30' 1990 Fleetwood Pace Arrow Chevy chassis. I'm having problems with the batteries. There are 2 batts. ( 1 regular 12v & 1 deep cycle 12v ) It seems like they aren't hooked up right. They are wired in parallel. The odd thing I noticed is that the main ground wires are going to the small car type battery ? I would think they should go to the deep cycle ? And if so, which wire would be the ground wire for the main chassis to the small battery ? I've also noticed some have 2 6v batteries instead of a 12v ?

Also, my fuel pump for the generator won't energize. I did notice a solenoid on the passenger side firewall that has a small white wire coming off of it that doesn't go antwhere ( disconnected ) ?

Any help, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome Marty to irv2.
Take a look at this Tech link with battery advise.
Here is another one on battery information.
You need to remember that you have two battery systems in coach your chassis battery for engine and your house battery for your 12v lights and 12v for your controls for your appliances that are fed off the house battery.
Here is a thread on a old coach and a missing house battery that may help you out different coach though.

Contact Fleetwood Customer Support with your make, year, model and VIN (Vehicle ID Number) information. Request the wiring diagrams for your unit. They will e-mail them to you almost immediately.

One of the first items shown on the diagrams will be the battery wiring information.

It sounds like a previous owner has removed/altered the battery configuration considerably.
