Bed lifts 2005 38N Expedition

Hi just finished doing a water damage repair on my bed room wall. Carrying on to something new, we replaced our mattress and just happened to look underneath at the storage space and found 2 struts not attached to anything. My question is where do they attach? And I should get stronger ones I suppose , since the new mattress is a memory foam type a lot heavier than the stock queen that was in it. Any one have an idea of what new struts I should get, and where they mount under the bed? Thanks in advance for the help.

No visible mount holes from removed screws ?

Not mounted at either end ? Just laying loose ?

Not attached to 'anything'? Meaning just laying loose or attached at one end? Are the mounting brackets still on the struts? Can you see any holes in the floor or the bed underside where they were originally anchored? Sounds like stupid questions I know but they help figure out what's going on. You may not need stronger struts but the mattress will be somewhat harder to lift. Quick suggestion: once you have the struts installed, lift the mattress, measure and cut a piece of 1X2 wood to use as a prop (store it under the bed).
Wonder if some previous work was done under there and they disconnected the struts do they could fold the platform up out of the way then forgot to reattach them?

There are holes in the bottom of the mattress platform I am sure are the mounting bracket holes, but, don't know where the connect on the floor or bed frame.

I don't know about yours, but our Monaco has struts inside the engine compartment below the bed that attach to the bottom of the platform the mattress is on and inside the compartment to a frame member. The measuring idea seems like a good one to me, once you know the distance, raise the bed platform and swing an arc while looking for a place the original struts were attached.
