Bedroom slide motor sheared off at mounting bolts

Morn. When setting up last weekend we started to extend the bedroom slide out and suddenly found the slide motor laying on the floor. The threaded ears on the assembly for the bolts to attach to had pieces broken off. We don’t know if the bolts had loosened or the mechanics doing maintenance through the hatch leaned against it. Anyway, has anyone else had this problem and i am in search of a fix without buying a high priced unit. It is a power gear motor with part number 524276. Its the bedroom slide on our 2007 Fleetwood Excursion. I’ve thought about trying to clean it up and weld some threaded aluminum pieces on it to thread the bolts into. But I’m not convinced this will work well. The motor is fine because we hold the motor in by hand and brace it and the slide will extend and retract with no issues. Any ideas are appreciated. Have a great day. Cliff

At a guess, somebody replaced the shear pin on the gear drive shaft with a Grade 8 bolt, so when the slide encountered too much resistance the motor twisted off its mounts instead of the pin shearing as Power Gear designed it to. But that's water over the dam now, although I would make sure the right shear pin was in place for the next time.

Some of the bedroom slides have direct drive motors,(no shear pin). It would be helpful if you identified the brand & model number of the motor so maybe we could give more specific help.

If this one will replace your existing motor, you are in luck:

Slide motor broken off mounting bolts

Hi Gary. Thanks for responding. I have a power gear slide motor. Sticker says it’s part number 524276. It has a shear pin. I looked at the link you sent me and it certainly looks like what i have except with a different part number. There are so many different motor that looks similar but the part numbers don’t match up. And I’m not sure which is a replacement for mine. The motorhome is a 2007 Fleetwood Excursion. Thanks for any help. Cliff

Check CSH Supply and the many motors they sell. Chances are good you'll find something to match up even if the pn isn't exact. They sell for about 1/2 of others.
Klauber Gear Motors
eTrailer shows an exact match of your pn: https://www.etrailer.com/p-LC368193.html
Best of luck.
