Best OTA antenna replacement

for the factory winegard antenna on my 06 39S? Hopefully one that mounts the same, or swap out head, etc?

OTA Antenna replacement

Sept 2018 I replaced the original bat-wing OTA antenna with a nice low profile automatic antenna from Winegard. Now I do not have to remember to lower the antenna before driving. Yes, I did do that a few times!
It has a thin piece of sheet metal that covered the original footprint perfectly. Even used the same screw holes. No more water leaking into the coach! It takes less than an hour to install and works well.
It is not an in motion antenna in that it finds the stations when you tell it to, but won't track them if you are moving. Not cheap, and some reviewers have said the motor fails, but I've had no problems in the one year I've used it.

The Winegard Sensor V with the Wingman will still out perform any Jack antenna out there.

In the Discovery's of yours and mine vintage, the OTA signal booster is actually incorporated into the VCR /radio that is in the entertainment center. If you don't have that VRC any longer you may need to get a signal booster like the one from Winegard. This is my next project.

I don't know if it's the best, but I am happy with my Kings Controls replacement.
It uses the same mount as the old Winegard, and also will work just fine if you have 12 volts coming up the coax to power the amp.
Happy Glamping.

BigD9,
So are you saying that my original antenna can pick up digital OTA signals? I still have both vcr/recievers (front and bedroom). I'll have a look at the manual for these units.

I still have the original unmodified OTA antenna and yes I get whatever is being broadcasted these days. I use a APP called DTV Antennas that tells me which way to point the antenna and presto, there is it!

Which reminds me, I really need to get on the roof and lubricate that old antenna. It moves so much easier when she is lubricated.
