Black/Grey Tank Flush System

My unit did not come with a Black/Grey tank flush system (2007 Fleetwood Terra LX Power Platform). The tanks are located directly under the bathroom area & are raised, so the piping requires 90 degree angles & drops into the utility bay. This design does not allow the use of the clear plastic piece with the attached spray unit for cleaning. There is an after market flush unit available, which requires drilling a hole in the tank, that installs a spray unit in the tanks. Has anyone installed one of these units? My fear is drilling in to the tank & creating a leak point!

Thanks for any info

Your questions about another hole in a fluid tank are reasonable. I have never installed this type of unit. However we have this flush system in our bus but we use the flush wand hooked to a hose from CW. This works better than the tank flushing unit. However, we use them both all the time. IMHO I would try the wand first!

countrypair,

We added a tornado flush kit to our grey tank. It was easy to install. Once we had drilled the hole in the tank (our tanks are plastic material). I predrilled the mounting screw holes, then used Atwood Marine 7200 adhesive/sealer and covered the inside of the tornado lip. Next I placed the tornado into the hole in the tank and screwed in and snugged the the
supplied screws making sure the 7200 "oozed" out around the entire lip. That was 2 years ago and we have never had a leak or an odor problem.

Countrypair,
I too have a 2007 FW Terra LX motor home. What did not come with the coach, I purchased used, was any information on the size of the tanks (freshwater, black, and gray).
I found a clear black water connector that has a fitting for a hose for that will allow me to flush the tank. It is approximately 5" and straight so it does fit the sewer connection and goes through the hole in the compartment with no problems.
Thanks for the answer about the size of the tanks.

Here is a link to the brochure for the 2007 Terra. http://fleetwoodrv.com/frvlibrary/do...2007_tra_b.pdf

Check page 15 for weights, measures, and tank capacities.
