Brake Light kills the tail light?

But, both brake lights work fine with the tail lights off? When the tail lights are on the drivers side brake light doesn't work and then kills that tail light. I am guessing a ground problem. Yes?

That would be the first place I would look. At 15 years old the time frame is right.

The last orginal bulb! And yeap, the base had enough corrosion to mess up the ground. A good cleaning with some steel wool and voila'. Of course there had to be one more irritation before hitting the road at 3AM!

You can find brushes made for cleaning bulb sockets at most auto parts stores. Simply insert the brush into the socket and turn the brush to clean the socket. I also recommend using a bulb grease or Silicone Di-Electric lube on the bulb base to keep moisture at bay.
