Bringing wires from Front to Back TV areas??

I have a 2013 Fleetwood Discovery 40G (the bunkhouse). I'd like to run some wiring (Coax cable and also Ethernet) from the audio/video compartment located in the main living room area of the RV above the television to the similar compartment located in the back bedroom.

I chatted briefly with an RV Technician, and he said that's not possible and that the wiring would have to go through the basement areas.

Does anyone know if this is true or not?? It seems like routing via the ceiling would be much simpler., but I've no idea really.

Also... It is important to know that the front audio/video compartment that I am working with is located on the front/driver's side slide, wheras this is not the case in the back bedroom. So regardless of where the wires go, they will need to be able to flex/move with the slideout.

Anyone with a Fleetwood Discovery 40G try this before??

I don't have a Discovery but, in general, it is FAR easier to run thru the basement compartments or just alongside a frame rail from one end to the other. The bulkheads in the ceiling are extremely difficult to get around/thru once the ceiling is installed. Your chassis builder did it with all the stuff from the engine to the dashboard.

Statgeek, is this so you can have one satellite receiver show up in both places? I ask as I just took delivery on a 2015 Discovery 40G and I was told that the satellite does not appear in both locations as they are separate feeds.

Why not consider wireless? There are countless wireless HDMI products that work extremely well without all the hassle. When I do custom installs, I always choose wireless - especially if I need to traverse into or through a slide.

I am currently in the process of running a coax from the front to the back of the rv. I am going to put it on the wall over my full wall slide using this stuff Legrand/Wiremold Cordmate Channel-C10 at The Home Depot
It is not too visible because the ceiling moulding will hide it. I am a little concerned that it will not stay attatched to the wall. I just installed a Traveler on the roof with a swm so I want tv in the bedroom. For the outside I am going to run the cable down the wall and through the front firewall to the tv compartment.

I tried to get a wireless genie but Direct tv will not ship it for a motor home.

Sort of. I have a Wineguard with two separate feeds to each tv. I theory it is supposed to work, and i had it going once, with extensive hours of help. But dish shuts down service if you don't use it on a regular basis, and then I'm in for hours of setup again. Following the same steps, doesn't work, and I think the Wineguard is just not as compatible with Dish as it may be for Direct TV.

So I was going to try sending the same signal to both TV's...

Also, given my total frustration with satellite, I invested in a media server that is wifi, however wifi signals have difficulty transmitting through that much walls and hard ware... Thus not only coax, but I also wanted to route Ethernet cable.

94-Newmarket--I am unaware of wireless coax repeaters? but if I can't route my Ethernet I may try another wifi repeater. I am currently running the WiFi Ranger to boost campground wifi, and I use it secondly as a family wifi network for streaming our videos (not using campground wifi). The media server works great that way,but would be improved for my rear television with Ethernet cabling.

Get the DirecTV Genie HR44 that can send wireless to the rear TV.

If your Receiver quits working from non use. You can reset it on line from your DTV account without any customer service help.

You probably can find other 2013 D owners that has done the wiring at Discovery Owners
