Buying a 2010 Discovery 40G, (Maybe)
Hi Folks! DW and I found a floorplan that we really like but, we are not too sure if it's a good quality coach or has this model been known to have problems? It's a 2010 Discovery 40G Bunk house with a full wall slide on a Spartan Chassis with a Cummins 350 hp and only 750 lbs of Torque... is this a problem? Currently we own a 2007 Monaco Diplomat 40 SKQ with a 400 Cummins & 1250 Torque. Just wondering if we would be sorry after buying this coach? Any info of Pro's & Con's would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You!

While the Fleetwood Discovery is a good coach, I think coming from your Monaco with larger engine you will be unhappy. Later model Discovery moved to larger engine.

Compare the weight/hp ratio of the two coaches - chances are they are pretty close. The Cummins 350 may have to rev a bit higher than the ISl 400 in the Diplomat, but performance is probably abut the same. You might notice a bit less performance on steeper grades, though.

With low amount of torque, it's probably an ISB not an ISC.

When in doubt or if in doubt...do nothing. That's a good decision when in that situation.

As a comparison, here is a good used 2011/40G in B.C. (Only 20hrs drive away from AZ) and take 22% off the price just by the exchange rate. It was on the lot when we bought our 40E (Dec 2013) and I bet they would love to unload it.

I have a 2010 Discovery 40G, with the Spartan chassis. I luv everything about this coach, except the ISB engine. Overall it's not a problem, but you do crawl up those long grades in CA. And it does not matter whether or not you are towing a trailer.
I would buy this coach again if I had to do it all over.
