By Pass Hot water leak

I have a water leak in my bye pass hot water heater, steamed my whole bathroom up in a matter of an hour or so turn my hot water heater off and water to the MH. Water was coming out of the handle on the bye pass, took the drawer out and the paneling out up under the sink. Im not sure what that connection is called but I need one. Any ideas?

Sounds like the valve itself has failed. Most likely the valve will have to be replaced - they are rarely rebuildable. Do you have just one handle to "bypass", or are there two or three? Most RVs of that vintage use a three-valve system and the valves are standard plumbing valves.

Turn off the water supply or pump, cool and drain the heater tank, unscrew or cut the old valve out and put the new one in. I'm not familiar enough with what you now have to be more specific about how the valve is fitted to the tubing.

The valve is square and two screws at the top and bottom took those out and both pipes pulled away from the valve and I could then see the ball in the valve that closed when you turn the valve from one side to the other.

I had a bypass leak on our 94 Jayco. I didn't have the proper tools for the pex type clamps. I used heater hose and hose clamps, and it was still good till the day I sold her.

It is a 3 way pipe comes up through it and the two pipes on each side connect to it and the handle is on the top.

My leak is shooting up through the top of the screw and out where the screw connects to the handle. So Iam not sure what to do to fix it except cut it out.But I am going to have to have the same kind to put back in their.

Does it look like any of these on Ebay?

Three-way valves are fairly standard items - take yours to a plumbing supply store to match up. Or maybe an RV store.
