Cb antenna
I have heard mention of older fleetwoods coming from the factory with cb antennas installed. Has anyone found a factory installed antenna on a newer bounder or similar coach under the dash somewhere? I really don't want to drill any holes and Ive heard that you need a special antenna when mounting to fiberglass as opposed to steel. Maybe something to do with grounding. Maybe someone could post the type of antenna they have used along with pictures and maybe an explanation of this special type of antenna of fiberglass mounting.

I have a 2012 American Coach and it did have a CB antenna installed. It is a short wire antenna on the roof. The coax was attached to the steering column under the dash. If you have one you will find the coax there.

Cb antenna
I had an antenna on the roof of my older Bounder ( 08 ).The coax and 12v wires were tucked under the dash near the radio.

My '05 Bounder has a dual purpose CB/FM radio antenna mounted from the factory. Under the radio up in the dash is a splitter to attach a CB coax. Its a piece of junk! I tried it once and the feedback into the FM radio was terrible. Also it was very noisy from RFI from several different components. I ended up mounting a dedicated CB antenna on the roof ladder and running a coax through an existing cable entry port in the firewall, and channeling it along the frame rails to the rear. I grounded it to the frame.

The previous owner of my Southwind installed a through-the-glass CB antenna. It has an adhesive pad on the inside, that the coax connects to, and an adhesive pad on the outside that the antenna connects to. It is mounted in the upper driver's side window, just back of the windshield.
I have used similar antennas for the older mobile phones in the past. They worked OK. This CB antenna doesn't seem to work all that great, but I haven't used it enough to really try it out.
The only time I got any use out of the CB so far was when in a slow rolling traffic jam on I-495 in Massachusetts. I did hear from the truckers how far the jam extended. However, I also had to listen (along with my wife and my 10 year old grandson) to a lot of very foul-mouthed trash talking. When we were clear, I tried to broadcast a "free at last" comment, but no one responded. Either my radio wasn't "getting out" or those guys don't understand a sentence that doesn't have the "F word" in it at least 3 times.
If this one hadn't been installed in the rig when I bought it, I wouldn't waste the money and effort on a CB.

Hey MoJo,
Mine was also located just below the stereo.
There was a Coax and a Power line and a ground wire.
On the roof was a very short CB antenna so, I went to Radio Shack and bought a longer antenna that had a swivel mount so I could lean it back a little bit so it would not hit low branches and things like my garage door when I back in.
Mine has a cabinet under the stereo that is on a magnet with hinges. I opened the cabinet door and there was all my wiring.
I hope this helps MoJo!
